چکیده

In this note we investigate a special form of degree games defined by D. Hefetz, M. Krivelevich, M. Stojaković and T. Szabó [4]. Usually the board of a graph game is the edge set of Kn, the complete graph on n vertices. Maker and Breaker alternately claim an edge, and Maker wins if his edges form a subgraph with prescribed properties; here a certain minimum degree. In the special form the board is no longer the whole edge set of Kn, Maker first selects as few edges of Kn as possible in order to win, and our goal is to compute the necessary size of that board. Solving a question of [4], we show, using the discharging method, that the sharp bound is around 10n/7 for the positive minimum degree game.

Global Maker-Breaker games on sparse graphs

In this paper we consider Maker-Breaker games, played on the edges of sparse graphs. For a given graph property P we seek a graph (board of the game) with the smallest number of edges on which Maker can build a subgraph that satisfies P. In this paper we focus on global properties. We prove the following results: 1) for the positive minimum degree game, there is a winning board with n vertices ...

Paired-Domination Game Played in Graphs

In this paper, we continue the study of the domination game in graphs introduced by Bre{v{s}}ar, Klav{v{z}}ar, and Rall. We study the paired-domination version of the domination game which adds a matching dimension to the game. This game is played on a graph $G$ by two players, named Dominator and Pairer. They alternately take turns choosing vertices of $G$ such that each vertex chosen by Domin...

Even flying cops should think ahead

We study the entanglement game, which is a version of cops and robbers, on sparse graphs. While the minimum degree of a graph G is a lower bound for the number of cops needed to catch a robber in G, we show that the required number of cops can be much larger, even for graphs with small maximum degree. In particular, we show that there are 3-regular graphs where a linear number of cops are needed.

Diameter Two Graphs of Minimum Order with Given Degree Set

The degree set of a graph is the set of its degrees. Kapoor et al. [Degree sets for graphs, Fund. Math. 95 (1977) 189-194] proved that for every set of positive integers, there exists a graph of diameter at most two and radius one with that degree set. Furthermore, the minimum order of such a graph is determined. A graph is 2-self- centered if its radius and diameter are two. In this paper for ...

On the Game Chromatic Number of Sparse Random Graphs

Given a graph G and an integer k, two players take turns coloring the vertices of G one by one using k colors so that neighboring vertices get different colors. The first player wins iff at the end of the game all the vertices of G are colored. The game chromatic number χg(G) is the minimum k for which the first player has a winning strategy. The paper [6] began the analysis of the asymptotic b...
